The 2026 HOT ROD Power Tour is shaping up to be one of the biggest Route 66 automotive events tied to the highway’s 100th anniversary celebration. The five-day rolling car festival runs June 8–12, 2026, and follows portions of historic Route 66 from Illinois to Oklahoma.
The tour includes a stop in Joplin at the World Street Painting location right on Route 66!
One of the coolest parts of Power Tour is the “Long Hauler” tradition. Many drivers complete the entire multi-state route in the same vehicle, making the road trip itself part of the challenge and culture. Reddit users and longtime participants often describe it as part car show, part endurance run, and part rolling family reunion for gearheads.
The tour is often called the “world’s largest traveling car show,” bringing together more than 6,000 vehicles and tens of thousands of fans. You’ll see everything from classic muscle cars and pro touring builds to rat rods, trucks, drag cars, customs, and restored cruisers as they stop over at 1717 West 7th Street.
