2025 Neosho Arts Council Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest

The Neosho Arts Council invites artists of all ages to transform the sidewalks into vibrant works of art. This community event celebrates creativity and provides a platform for local talent to shine.
Age Categories and Cash Prizes
Ages 18+ ($10 entry fee – cash only at sign-up)

First Place: $300

Second Place: $200

Third Place: $100
Ages 13–17 (Free entry)

First Place: $75

Second Place: $50

Third Place: $25
Ages 6–12 (Free entry)

First Place: $20

Second Place: $15

Third Place: $10


Registration takes place on Saturday, October 4 at the Neosho Arts Council tent, located at the southwest corner of the Square.

Participants are encouraged to share their artwork on Facebook and Instagram. Tag Neosho Arts Council and use the official hashtag #NeoshoArtsChalk25 for a chance to be featured.

Contest Guidelines

One free box of chalk will be provided per entrant

Extra boxes available for $10 (all ages)

Artists may bring chalk from previous contests or use standard sidewalk chalk

Artwork must stay within the assigned square

Permanent marking materials are not allowed (no spray paint, oil-based mediums, paint pens, etc.)

In case of rain, artists should take a photo of their completed piece and bring it to the NAC tent at 2:00 PM for judging

All cash prizes will be mailed to the address provided on the entry form

Recommended Supplies and Tips:

Knee pads or a cushion for comfort while working

Hat for sun protection and umbrella for potential rain

A pre-planned design can help save time and improve results
