Established in 1994 by the National Environmental Education Foundation, National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands. Held on the fourth Saturday in September, NPLD brings out thousands of volunteers to help restore and improve public lands around the country. This year, NPLD will look a little different at George Washington Carver National Monument. Participants must pre-register. Please call the park at 417-325-4151 for further information. Join the team of volunteers and help plant trees and native flowers, maintain trails, weed and mulch landscaped areas, and enjoy the beautiful woodlands and prairie at the park.
