Just north of Joplin, Keltoi Winery offers a taste of the Emerald Isle all throughout the year. In winter, visitors can warm themselves with a cup of hot spiced wine while cozying up to the fireplace inside the Cottage, and during the summer months they can cool off with a chilled white wine under the twinkling lights of the covered porch. Established in 1997 by Erv and LeeAnn Langan, Keltoi Winery produces over a dozen types of wines, including Irish Raindrops, a smooth, semi-sweet white wine that’s a customer favorite; the Norton, a superb dry red wine made from Missouri’s state grape; and fruit wines, such as apple and pear. Customers are invited to explore the grounds of the vineyard by wandering down the mile-long walking trail, or by bringing a picnic lunch and dining with a bottle of wine beside Little Northfork Creek or in the vineyard itself. Keltoi also features an area called Maynooth, named after an ancient site in Ireland. Designed as an area for reflection and prayer, Maynooth contains a Fairy Circle encircling a Tree of Life, as well as a replica of the megalithic site Nine Ladies. Open Wednesday through Sunday, and by appointment.
