This vibrant four-season market showcases the best of our area’s local products. Housed in a 1907 building that was donated to Downtown Joplin Alliance by Empire District Electric Company, this enclosed market features vendors from a 150-mile radius selling produce, meats, eggs, wine, coffee, handcrafted personal care products, and local arts and crafts.
Some unique consumables sold at the market include local honey, no-sugar-added fruit leathers, and Savory Sauce, a homemade, gluten-free sweet vinaigrette made in nearby Alba, Missouri.
A variety of local artists and craftspeople share their work at Joplin Empire Market, including a group of women called the Market Artisans, whose members rotate their goods each week, highlighting an array of talents with their jewelry, textiles, pottery, and more.
Food trucks, live music, and special events add a festival-like element to the market, turning a shopping trip into a lively social experience.
The market is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with ample parking available in a lot to the east of the building.
