In this drama of doubt, sin, and redemption, a man is forced to choose between his love of God and his love of the sea who struggles with his faith only to learn grace from a fallen woman and to combine his two passions as Captain Salvation. When seminary student Anson Campbell (Lars Hanson--The Scarlett Letter) stands up for Bess Morgan (Pauline Starke), a woman of low moral standing, rather than help restore her reputation, he too is scorned by the townspeople. Leaving the seminary and putting out to sea as a deckhand, Campbell realizes he is working aboard a prison ship bearing Morgan. But when the ship's captain tries to force himself on Morgan, she kills herself rather than allow the man's advances. With his faith strengthened by Morgan's unwavering sense of morality despite her reputation, Campbell devotes himself to the ministry as a seagoing chaplain. Silent Film, 1:54 Drama
